Plant Care Instructions
These instructions should be followed for the first 4-6 weeks after installation. Once your plants have established, you typically do not need additional water. During times of drought and severe heat, watering may be necessary.
Please feel free to contact our office any time for plant care advice.
Soil Moisture
Checking soil moisture before watering ensures you do not over water your new plantings. Some soils will retain moisture longer than others. Be sure to dig down 2-3 inches near the root ball to determine if you should water that day or hold off.
How to Water
All new plantings should be watered with a garden hose turned onto a slow trickle. The water flow should be enough to soak the root ball of the plant effectively but not so heavy that the water flows off the soil.

Preparing for Winter
All evergreen plants (trees and shrubs) will benefit from a late fall watering throughout their life. It is recommended that these plants get an hour long watering in November, before putting the hose away for winter. This helps prevent desication of the foliage throughout the winter months.
